026 - 031 ; Michelle Pfeiffer
are simply damaged and beautiful; no, Michelle tales these women and brings out an unearned
depth that could never have been achieved if she had not graced the frames. She is not and
should never be no more than the go to “sex bomb” character so frequently used in cinema
today. Her ever-expressive and timeless face should be a necessity for those haunted characters
whose strength could only be shown by one so mistakenly frail herself. One look into those endless blue
eyes and every bit of heartache, feebleness and obscurity these women have faced is laid out before you,
in all their flawed glory.
That said, Michelle’s non-comeback has graced us with three wonderful films. Most notably Hairspray, in which she plays the deliciously awful Velma Von Tussle; a meddling mother of sorts who can’t seem to get with the times. In addition, with Hairspray, Michelle was able to stretch those dazzling vocal chords of hers for the first time since The Fabulous Baker Boys (((side note: where with Susie Diamond she took the “sexy songstress” to a whole new level, creating a legendary piano scene the likes of which have never and will never be matched.)))
Her second spectacular film of the year, Stardust, had been called 'one of the best films of the year'. As Lamia, the 5,000-year-old witch hell-bent on eating the heart of a star [played by the darling Claire Danes] in order to regain her youthful beauty, Michelle donned pounds of rubber and make-up to make her flawlessly gorgeous face look downright hideous.
Last, [but certainly not least] the third film of the year has Michelle in the midst of the “older woman --- much younger man” scenario [with the adorable Paul Rudd] as Rosie in I Could Never Be Your Woman.
Let the discussion begin! :-)

|-||No bashing or name calling of any kind! Mafia members are a kind bunch and need to be accepting of all other Mafia members. If someone does leave a nasty post or comment please DO NOT respond to them. We have big burly men to come in and deal with those who go against the family. :P|
|-||Posting artwork is encouraged but please follow these guidelines: |
Icons must fit LJ [and Photobucket, Imageshack, etc.] standards for size and content.
You may post teasers of up to 4 icons [all of which do not have to be of Michelle...in the case of large megaposts, etc.]
You may post photos from any source [meaning photoshoot, candids, etc.] but please credit the site at which you found them if they are candid photographs.
Please DO NOT post or link to sites featuring "faux nude" pictures...Mafia members have no interest in photos that have been altered in such ways.
You may post wallpapers, headers, signatures or any other form of artwork as well but please put them ALL under an LJ-cut.

|-||Mafia members are quite simply Michelle fans. The communities name was made with an alliteration of Michelle's name. Seeing as a "mafia" is a "powerful or influential group in an organization or field" I thought the name was quite clever.|
Who is this "mod"?
- My name is Nikayla [ni-kay-luh] or Niki and I am 18. Eighteen as in an 18 year old teenager. I emphasize this because I am very subject to fangirl quite profusely and with a multitude of teenage lingo. I'm developing a "What the hell did she say?" post which will be updated frequently. :) Moving on. I have been a Michelle fan, really since damn near birth. I first saw "The Wiches of Eastwick" when I was very young and loved Michelle probably before I even knew how to love an actress. But it wasn't until somewhat recently that I rediscovered how utterly fantastic Michelle is. Hmm. What else is there to say? Well I'm a Sagittarius. 5’1”. Brunette (most of the time). Photoshop Junkie. Spoiler Whore. eBay Addict. Subject to Ramble…for Days. and Obsessive Compulsive. :D
